Every morning each one of us wakes up with a purpose. We all have the same hours in a day, and a list of things we need to accomplish. People go to the gym for a variety of reasons; to gain muscle mass, to lose weight, to tone up, to reduce stress, to increase flexibility, to improve quality of life, or for any combination of the above. There is no doubt that everyone around you during your workout has a different health or fitness goal. This is important to keep in mind when you are working out. Just because someone is lifting more, running faster or sweating more it doesn’t mean that they are accomplishing their goal better than you. Now, if you get your daily newspaper read and catch up on your emails via your smart phone while at the gym then yes, those people that are lifting, running and sweating ARE accomplishing their goal better than you. But for the rest of you who are working out, the most important advice we can give you is to not compare yourself to others. Success is different for everyone. You need to set your own goals and work to accomplish them, and only them. If your health goals are unrealistic then you’re setting yourself up for failure.Read More '
